HOFESH SHECHTER:IN YOUR ROOMS / UPRISING
Posted March 1, 2009 – 4:56 pm in: Art
Hofesh Schecter’s ‘In Your Rooms’ is a captivating and original performance. It combines a live band at the top of the stage with contemporary dance. There is a really interesting relationship between the band’s music and the dancers- sometimes you can only see one drummer with the dancers and in other parts they all perform together. There were times when these two elements where competing with each other and it was difficult to focus. The dancers movements were amazing, a celebration of what the human body is capable of. Anam bar (close to Angel tube)
Posted February 27, 2009 – 7:28 pm in: Bars
Anam bar is a great cocktail bar in Chapel Market. When I was there the bar tender seems very professional, taking exceptional care of what goes into your drink. They have a promotion 2 for 1 cocktails every weekday between 6-8 which means you can get a nice Mojito for around £3. And now for the main finding: the toilets… As you can see in the picture, they have an aquarium instead of a mirror and you can make a friend from your opposite sex because this aquarium is shared between the male and female toilets… Address: Anam Bar, 3 Chapel Market, Islington, London, N1 9EZ
Free newspaper anyone?
Posted February 24, 2009 – 10:50 pm in: Services
I have recently seen this ad in free newspapers like Metro and Lite. Commuters are now being asked to recycle the newspaper they get for free. I think this is quite absurd and calling the wrong people to order. The responsibility for all this newspaper mess is on the publishers. How many free newspapers do we really need?
The publishers are now forced to pay for recycling bins and to empty them which is good but not dealing with the source of the problem. There should be a limitation on how many newspapers can be given away each day and encourage people to share them rather than recycle them. Read more>>

This is a Journey planner ad from 2003 . Tracy wants her eyebrow pierced and Journey planner helps her finding the right way… It is nice to see that Transport for London is aware of the different ways in which people use it everyday.
A cheerful tube journey?
Posted February 7, 2009 – 1:47 am in: Services
Traveling on the tube is usually a painful experience, especially during rush hours. When the platform is really full with people, I have noticed that the tone of voice of the staff can get quite aggressive. They shout at you “stay behind the yellow lines”, “let passenger leave the train first” and then they also threat “if you won’t stay away from the door, this train will not leave”. The last thing you need apart from having to travel on a sardin-packed train is to be shout at as if you were doing something wrong.
Anyhow, this week I had a different experience on my way to work… Read more>>

There are two types of people in this world. Those who open the microwave while it still running and those who stop it first and then open the door. Cooking with a microwave is a tricky thing and you never know how much time it will take. You can estimate by setting up the timer but somehow you always find yourself opening the door before the timer stops! Read more>>
Buen ayre restaurant
Posted February 1, 2009 – 6:03 pm in: Restaurants
Buen ayre is a Latin-American restaurant, located on the trendy Broadway market and is known for serving fantastic meat. The restaurant looks very simple and it is ovious that people come there for the meat rather than the deco. The staff were very friendly and even entertained some bored children left alone by their parents. I was late so I called a friend who was already there to order me a Sirloin steak. When I arrived, the staff was very attentive and quickly offered me a drink to catch up with the rest.

On one morning I entered the office, passed through the kitchen and picked up an apple on the way to my desk. I hit the ‘ON’ switch and the computer started loading. Another bite from the apple and BANG! I had to hold CTRL+ALT+DEL to login…

How do you wake up?
Posted January 24, 2009 – 3:50 pm in: Mobile
You probably have your old alarm clock hiding somewhere in your room covered with spiderwebs…The mobile phone killed it long time ago. Today, we can set the alarm to go on at different times during the week which is useful but geeky. I personally like to set the alarm every day because it shows me how much time I have to sleep… Read more>>
